Remix's/Collabs and new Chunes!!!

Last couple of months i have spent every given moment working on new material, remix's and collaborations.

First of i managed to finish my next E.P. for Sub slayers featuring collaborations with Dj Gold. The concept of my next E.P. is based on the art/sport of Sound clash. I wanted to re vamp or put a twist on some of the old classic dubplates that was and still used today in soundclash.

We wanted to mash up sound clash in a future jungle, dubstep style and bring up to the age of the digital soundbwoy.

King Yoof v Dassier Chams (Jah Chant)

 

My other collaboration project that i have just started is with a new Spanish Dj/Producer by the name of Dassier Chams who is based out of Malaga and the only Dj in Spain pushing the Future Jungle (Jungle breaks) sound + D.Chams is also the first female to play this new sound and a name to look out for.

 As some of you know that i have spent many years touring in Spain when i produced breakbeat under the Sonz of Mecha guise and the history of breaks/bassline has always been ingrained into the culture and so it is natural now for music to progress and change.

Dassier has a passion for all music such as reggae,breaks,jungle and brought a very "summer time" feel to this collaboration (Jah chant). 

King Yoof v Jacky Murda feat Gregory Isaacs (Dub Nurse)

 

Finally i had the pleasure of working with Jacky Murda on a couple of tracks (still need to finish one of the tracks) but when Jacky brought me a live vocal recording he did with the late but very great Gregory Isaac's my jaw dropped and we quickly did a version of "Night nurse" or our version "Dub nurse" LOL... 

this is a real feel good tune and will make you warm and fuzzy inside hahaha... na seriously a tear came to my eye when i was working on the track and i hope this will carry on the spirit of Gregory Isaacs.

Mr Benn feat Serocee "Rising star" Nice Up Recs!

The remix i did for Mr Benn and Serocee is out next month on Nice Up recs!

I had real fun remixing this tune and used most of the parts from the original + i wanted to keep a song structure so i could use Serocee's full vocal.

Serocee is on fire at the moment working with South Rakka's cru, Toddla T but his vocal performance on the Mr Benn track (Rising Star) is his best to date.

Saxon Sound v Dubkinetic "Every day" (E-regular).

Since starting my radio show on www.koollondon.com every friday 5-7pm gmt i have meet some real cool people and one of those is a dj called Dj Maddness who plays before me and his roots go way back + he's associated with the legend's Saxon Sound.

I had already had the pleasure of meeting Saxon Sound head honcho Dennis Rowe and so to be asked to remix them i jumped at the chance as these guys are in my top 10 biggest inspirations.

Vocal performance's come from Daddy Colonel and Papa levi.

Shut up and Dance "Fire"

The same week i had to remix Saxon sound i also was asked to remix my other biggest inspiration in my musical carrear "Shut up and Dance" but the real strange thing was that both Saxon and S.U.A.D had based there tunes on the same sample "The Hard times riddim". Yep it freaked me out and yes i believe syncronisity but both remix's turned out killa

Jay Cunning asked me to remix his latest signing to Sub Slayers "Jinx in dub" who ive been a fan of for years now and it just would of been rude not to of remixed such wiked tune. 

Jinx's original version is more on a dubstep vibe but i gave it the 140 hardcore jungle twist.

Moombahton anyone???

Lately ive been checking out alot of new sounds and im loving the Moombahton sound that fuse's dancehall, house and basslines.

Many of my closest friends who know me will tell you that i dont have much love for house music and i will be very honest about it but ive finally found some artists that im really feeling of late and so i thought i would slow the tempo down from 140 to  112bpm and get my dancehall moves on in the studio.

I had so much fun writing this track and so expect more moombah from King Yoof

Top 10 tips on how to spot a true Junglist.

1)   A true junglist would name all his/her children Johnny, Ricky and Scottie.

2)   “Gun Finger Syndrome” is a big give away when spotting a true Junglist as they will “Bus the Gun finger” at any given chance such as hailing down buses or cabs.

 3)   A common trait amongst Junglists is the “subliminal one foot skank”.

This is when the person usually walking down the road minding there own business is suddenly overwhelmed by a passing car pumping out Kool Fm and thus the effect is instant and a uncontrollable urge to jump on one foot and bus the skank occurs.

4)   In the religion of Jungle a devoted Junglist will wake up every morning to the sound of Remarc’s sound murderer, recite Mc 5-0’s rants word for word like the Koran and bow down to Kenny Ken’s final round at Jungle soundclash video pon youtube.

5)   Unless you use the word’s Amen, Cold sweat, Hot pants, Apache then don’t expect much response from a Junglist.

6)   Don’t mention General Levi to a true Junglist as this is like fighting talk and is as bad as saying “I slept with your mother”…just don’t go there.

7)   Don’t ever get into a heated conversation with a Junglist as they will always win, they have years and years of listening to sound clashs and will start reciting King Addies or Saxon speech’s from old cassettes and you just wont win, expect to hear “ay bwoy you sound just cant test me” or “I come to kill sound me na play no girl tune”.

      8)  “Extreme double barrel gun finger”.                                   

 In some cases of this disorder it can be very extreme as E.D.G.F.S will spread to both hands making normal things such as drinking a cup of tea very difficult.

9)   With today’s current trend of EDM a Junglist is finding it harder and harder to survive as a species due to the influx of  midrange screechy bass, No women at dances and bare naked men moshing… A true junglist wine up to girls in a rave.

10)  A Junglist is for life and not just for Christmas.
